The New York brand-and-publisher AI company announced a February 2024 seed financing led by Radical Ventures without publishing a dollar figure.
Geography and amount need separate checks
A press-release dateline alone does not establish where a company is headquartered. In these examples, the announcements themselves describe the businesses as New York or Brooklyn-based. That is a dated description, not proof they retain the same office today. Likewise, a funding round figure is not a company valuation or an estimate of local jobs created.
The Firsthand announcement does not disclose an amount. Leaving it blank is more honest than borrowing a database estimate. Use the list with its limits visible
For an ecosystem report, define city boundaries, qualifying office or headquarters, deal date, source hierarchy, and whether convertible notes or grants count. A few public announcements will miss quiet financings, and duplicate reports can count the same round twice. For sales or media outreach, confirm a company's current operations and contacts rather than relying on an old release.
