A useful UK startup funding list should identify a specific round and link to an issuer or investor announcement. These four examples are a selected snapshot of funding announced in 2024, not a league table or a total of UK venture activity. Round size and stage differ, and the amounts should not be combined into an industry statistic.
Selected UK announcements
Sable Bio — £1.5 million pre-seed
Seedcamp announced participation in the London company's February 2024 round for software intended to support drug-discovery decisions.
Siloton — about £860,000 investment
The Bristol-based eye-imaging company said it closed its second investment round in July 2024 and published details in October. It also identified separate non-dilutive grant support; the figures should not be conflated.
FAT32 — £625,000 round
Northstar Ventures announced an October 2024 investment round for the Sunderland regulatory-technology company, including £350,000 from its Venture Sunderland Fund.
Birl — £500,000 pre-seed
Baltic Ventures reported a November 2024 pre-seed round for the UK fashion trade-in and circular-commerce business.
What the round figures mean
The amounts are announcement figures in pounds sterling. They are not company valuations, revenue, or evidence that a product is commercially successful. A release may describe funds committed for a proposed plan, while product development and hiring take place later. Check the date attached to each source before citing it in a current market report.
Siloton's own release calls the July transaction its second investment round and says it was complemented by non-dilutive grant funding. Northstar's FAT32 announcement distinguishes its fund's contribution from the total round. Those are precisely the kinds of distinctions that disappear in a bare spreadsheet of startup names and amounts.
Verify before making a decision
If the list is for market research, confirm each company's present status and the product described today. If it is for investment diligence, an announcement is only a lead; review legal offering materials, capitalization, and current filings with appropriate advisers. If it is for a news story, contact the issuer for any later round or material correction.
This page deliberately avoids a broad claim about all UK startups because its examples are selected, not a census. The linked company and investor announcements let readers inspect each statement at its source and decide whether it remains relevant to their purpose.
