Mailchimp Affiliate Program: Check the Current Partner Rules

Distinguish Mailchimp's current Mailchimp & Co commission program from the old referral-credit article.

A brand strategy workspace with moodboard and planning materials.

The 2024 version of this page described a $30 bill-credit referral arrangement and even displayed a 2021 program period. That is not a safe description of the current opportunity. Mailchimp's present help documentation describes commissions through Mailchimp & Co for eligible members who connect and serve paid client accounts. Check the live terms in your own account before promoting a payout or signing up clients.

What Mailchimp currently documents

Program type

Mailchimp & Co is aimed at people or agencies helping clients with Mailchimp. It is not described as an unrestricted public affiliate-link program.

Eligibility

Mailchimp's help page says members must be connected to at least two paid customer accounts and sign in to those accounts regularly during the calculation quarter to qualify for financial rewards.

Reward types

Its documentation distinguishes new-customer referrals from managed-customer revenue. The percentage and duration depend on the program's current rules and membership tier.

Payment setup

The current instructions call for an accepted additional agreement and a connected Payoneer account for commission payments.

How to evaluate the opportunity

Read Mailchimp's current commission help page and the additional terms from your account. Check geography, tax and identity requirements, connected-account rules, exclusions, payout timing, and how a client can revoke access. Ask whether the revenue you expect is worth the service and support you must actually provide.

Do not promise a client that your recommendation is independent if you earn from it. Disclose a material referral or managed-service relationship where required, and recommend the product only when it suits the client's needs. This page does not constitute legal, tax, or financial advice.
