Eigen Bio announced on September 29, 2025 that its team finished among the top three in the Stanford RNA 3D Folding Challenge. Stanford's Das Lab separately congratulated team Eigen among the leading competitors in the blind prediction challenge.
The competition asked participants to predict the three-dimensional structures of RNA molecules from sequence data. Eigen Bio presented the result as an important milestone for its machine-learning work and reported that the challenge drew participants from many countries and thousands of submissions.
The company's announcement compared its performance with Google DeepMind's AlphaFold3. That comparison was a company claim about a particular challenge and metric; it should not be read as proof that one system is generally superior across all RNA or biological-structure tasks.
