Swiss software company Forctis AG announced NINA Digital Art TokenPlace in 2022 as a curated marketplace for digital artwork represented by non-fungible tokens. The announcement said artists could submit portfolios and that the platform was designed around encryption and digital-rights-management tools. NINA's public company profile identifies the project with Forctis and describes its emphasis on controlling the digital object, not merely recording a token transaction.
Forctis presented the system as a way for creators to manage how their work is distributed and offered, including art with both digital and physical components. Those are descriptions of the platform's design. A token does not by itself transfer copyright or prevent copying, and an encryption feature does not establish that every buyer or artist receives a particular legal right. The scope of any license depends on the applicable terms and the creator's ownership of the underlying work.
