Lightsense Technology Promoted a 2022 Crowdfunding Campaign

The Tucson company sought funding for miniaturized spectroscopy and handheld detection products.

Announcement

Lightsense Technology announced in September 2022 that it was running an equity-crowdfunding campaign while developing miniaturized spectrometers. The Tucson company described its Enhanced Photodetection Spectroscopy architecture as a route to portable tools for identifying substances. Its proposed applications included public-safety screening, industrial analysis, and research into detection of biological materials.

The company's current site continues to describe optical detection platforms and lists DrugDetect-F1, a handheld device designed for field screening of powders, alongside an infrared thermometry product. Those are product descriptions, not proof that every sample can be identified accurately under every condition. The original announcement's description of Lightsense as an industry leader was promotional language, not a verified market ranking.

The 2022 fundraising notice is not a current investment offer. Anyone assessing a present device should request validation data, intended-use limitations, training requirements, and procurement terms. Investors should consult current regulatory filings and offering documents rather than an old release or an archived target. Detection products and startup investments each have risks that cannot be resolved by a headline.
