Announcement
The Liberation Fund announced a Liberating Fathers initiative in 2022 to address child-support obligations that had accumulated while some fathers were incarcerated. The original announcement named Justin Moore and Kardal Coleman as the organization's founders and said Stafford Moore, PLLC would provide legal assistance. It framed the work around family reconnection and the difficulty of meeting obligations immediately after release from prison.
The announcement gave August 31, 2022 as the end of registration. It did not establish that the initiative remains open, that a particular debt can be cancelled, or that every applicant would qualify. Child-support orders and any changes to them depend on the relevant state, court, case history, and timing; people should not stop paying or ignore a court notice based on an old press release. The release's social-impact goals were aspirations rather than measured program outcomes.
